Fire-resistant Geopolymer Produced by Waste Serpentine Cutting
نویسنده
چکیده
There are more than half million tons of serpentine waste produced per year during mining operation in Taiwan. This study is to develop a process to manufacture fire-resistant geopolymer based on serpentine waste. The experiment results show that the waste serpentine-based geopolymer have very good physical/mechanical characteristics. For fire resistance tests, a 10 mm thick geopolymer panel was exposed to a 1100 flame, with the °C measured back-side temperatures reaching less than 450 after 30 minutes. Th °C e products can be fabricated for construction purposes and have great application potential. Keyword: Serpentine, Geopolymer, Recycling, Fire-resistance

Production geopolymer materials by coal fly ash
Coal ash is the main waste from power plant. It is estimated that the consumption of the coal for power plant will increase to 240 million tons each year and the coal ash wastes will produce more than 2 million tons per year. Although the utilization of coal fly ash can be reached 74.1%, large amount of coal fly ash and bottom ash still cannot be utilized. The purpose of this research is to dev...
متن کاملBehaviour of Passive Fire Protection K-Geopolymer under Successive Severe Fire Incidents
The performance of a fire resistant coating for tunnel passive fire protection under successive severe thermal loading is presented. The material falls under the class of potassium based geopolymers (K-geopolymer) and was prepared by mixing ferronickel (FeNi) slag, doped with pure alumina, with a highly alkaline potassium hydroxide aqueous phase. Its performance was assessed by subjecting a con...

This investigation elucidates the mechanical characteristics of geopolymer containing solar panel waste glass. With the SiO2/Na2O molar ratio (S/N = 0.75, 1.0, 1.25, 1.5, 1.75), the percentage of metakaolinite that is replaced by solar panel waste glass (040%), and the curing time of 1, 7, and 28 days as the study variables, the porosity, density, setting time, compressive strength, and flexura...
متن کاملStudy on the Disposition of Water in Fly Ash-Based Geopolymers Using ATRâ•fiIR
This paper addresses the question of whether the main product of low calcium fly ash-based geopolymer is a hydrate, namely, sodium aluminosilicate hydrate (N-A-S-H). The answer to this question is important for understanding geopolymer characteristics. One of these is its fire resistance. In this study, fly ash-based geopolymers were synthesized using the combination of Na2CO3 and Ca(OH)2. Samp...
